Under the law, health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including therapy.
You have the right to receive a
“Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your therapy services may cost.
What this means for you:
- You will receive a written Good Faith Estimate before your first appointment or whenever requested..
- The estimate will include the expected cost of services based on the fees for therapy sessions and your anticipated length of treatment.
- This estimate is not a contract or a guarantee, and actual costs may vary depending on your needs and the progress of therapy.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
